A Simple Life win another 3 awards overseas

We have to congratulate A Simple Life as it made Hong Kong films proud again, after winning Best Director, Best Actress and Best Actor in last weekend 48th Golden Horse Film Awards, A Simple Life win awards in Estonia. It won Grand Prix for Best Eurasian Film, Jury Prize for Best Actress in the Official Competition EurAsia Jury Awards of the 15th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, it also won the FICC (Federation Internationale Des Cine-Clubs) Awards.

This is the second Best Actress award for Deanie Ip after Venice Film Festival.

The panel of jury of the film festival feel that A Simple Life narrates a detailed master-servant relationship between Tao Jie and Roger, it sing praise of Deanie’s acting which showed off the inner feelings of the character thus presented her the Best Actress award. Due to the fierce competition in the festival, the jury only made up their mind the night before the result is due to be announced thus there is no time to send out invitation to Ann Hui and Deanie for the presentation ceremony, the organizer expressed that both of them could join the panel of jury in future festivals.

With regards to Ann and Deanie winning another award, a delightful Andy said: “Heavens really adores us, cheers to Hong Kong films!”
