Forbes announced Forbes Chinese Celebrities List 2011 in Shanghai today, Andy Lau tops the list with Taiwanese singer Jay Chou and Mainland China’s Faye Wong in second and third respectively. The order of the standings is based on the amount of money the celebrities made in the past year, as well as the frequency in Internet searches and frequency of exposure in the media which includes newspapers, magazines and TV.
The “overall” list takes into account artists from all 3 regions of China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan combined. On the 100 list, 55 spots are male celebrities and 45 spots of female celebrities.
Andy Lau who is 50 years old this year, was ranked number 5 last year overtake top spot from Jackie Chan. This “multi-talent heavenly king” had a fruitful year in 2010 as he had five films to his name and 20 shows of concert in Hong Kong to celebrate his 30th anniversary in showbiz, continue showing off his evergreen legend. His annual income is 139 million yuan.
