Five years of preparation, three years of production, a production budget of $1.5 billion, the cast gathered several box office drawing actors in Andy Lau, Barbie Hsu, Fan Bingbing, a science fiction and romance theme, collaboration of many special effects specialists and talented directors, especially being the first film after Andy announced his marriage, the film Future X-cops can be considered as one of the anticipated Chinese film in the first half of this year. It was announced by China Film Group Corporation yesterday that the film will open in the cinema on 30 March.

Experienced director Wong Jing said: “We never deny that the delay of screening is to enhance the special effects production.” After Avatar opened in the cinema on 18 December, the film company specially sent a group to America for a site visit, they even have communication with Avatar production companies. “During our communication, we found out that the special effects of Future X-cops could have a further breakthrough.” The film’s promotion spokeswoman Miss Ng said: “There are a total of 48 top notch companies collaborating for the post production of Avatar, within a short period of time we could not excel them, we tried our best to enhance the special effects of our film.” After the crew members returned, they immediately perform an “operation” on Future X-cops, brave modifications were carried out in all areas of the film and the special effects enhancement was finally completed before the Chinese New Year and decided to present the brand new Future X-cops to the audience on 30 March.

For Future X-cops, science fiction is just the outer shell, whereas love relationship is the core. Being the first film after announcing his marriage, Future X-cops can be rather meaningful for Andy. Under a science fiction background, Andy, Barbie and Fan Bingbing narrates a touching love relationship through time dimension. Andy also take up the challenge to be a “caring” father.

From the reporter’s understanding, being Xu Jiao’s father, Andy took the challenge up to Stephen Chow to see who is more “caring”, as he show care and concern to his “daughter” in and out of the film, he also gave some acting tips to Xu Jiao. She also failed to fulfill the director’s requirement for action scene but Andy was there to calm her down and demonstrate to her. Under the assistance of Andy, Xu Jiao managed to complete the scene in one take. With regards to this, the crew member sing praise Andy as “perfect father”.
