Earlier the new committee name list for the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild had been announced, Eric Tsang will be the new chairman, Zhang Quan and Eason Chan as vice-chairman, last committee’s vice-chairman Andy Lau who was tipped to remain in the committee was nowhere in sight which surprise everyone. Many netizen sighed: “Sigh, Andy should be nominated.” Some netizens were guessing that his image was affected by the marriage incident last year thus he was outcast by the members? With regards to this, reporter contact the guild’s secretary Miss Lee whom revealed that Andy choose to redraw himself from the election, thus all allegations does not stand.

Alan Tam whom was the chairman for the last two years once told reporters that he would be taken over by vice-chairmen Andy and Eason, he also joked that Andy gave him a promise, “He promise me that I can be the chairman first and he will take over from me.” In the recent announcement committee list, Andy is not the chairman and his name is not found in the 21 members committee, which is unexpected. It was said that his “marriage news” last year damage his trust and made him into an invisible man. It is said that the 21 members committee is determined by voting of the 823 members, thus there is another saying that Andy was outcast?

Therefore reporters tried to contact chairman Eric but he was in a meeting thus the secretary Miss Lee was interviewed and expressed that Andy did not participate in the election as he redraw himself automatically. “He said that he would be busy with work, it would be hard to accommodate his time to help out in the guild thus he decided to call stop,” with regards to being outcast, Miss Lee deny and said: “It’s not that nobody voted for him, he redraw himself from the election automatically. If he want to do, he want to do his best, he think he don’t have the time, thus he made this decision.” With regards to whether this is due to his marriage, Miss Lee does not want to comment, she said: “I could not speak on behalf of him, I cannot answer this question.”
