On 26 July 2018, Andy Lau announced the theme and the drawing for his upcoming concert – My Love Andy Lau World Tour, he personally invited well known Chinese artist Zeng Fanzhi to draw for his concert’s poster. In 2001, Zeng Fanzhi’s drawing The Last Supper was sold for US$23.3 million, setting a new record for contemporary Asian artwork.
Andy met an accident in Thailand last year when he fell off a horse during a commercial shooting, he said: “For this concert, actually it’s like a new hope and reborn after my accident, I have tried all sorts of posters, hope to give something news for everybody, I managed to catch Zeng Fanzhi’s exhibition in Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam which showed off his drawings.”
Andy talked about his relationship with Zeng Fanzhi, “I knew Zeng Fanzhi for more than 10 years, then I wanted to learn how to draw a oil painting, then I was location shooting in Beijing and one of my friends knew him, and paid a visit to his studio. Then I wish to learn from him, but did not dare to ask, hope one day I can really learn from him.”
According to Focus Group, Andy’s My Love Andy Lau World Tour will kick off on 15 December 2018 till 3 Jan 2019, for 20 nights at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
