11 nights of Sammi Cheng’s Love mi 2009 Concert kicked off at the Hong Kong Coliseum on 24 December. Sammi used Sahara desert to describe her current love life, thus when special guest Andy Lau went onto the stage, she could not control herself and kiss him twice, she then quipped that she wanted to hold onto another guest Tan Hanjin.

When Andy made an entrance, Sammi describe him as the most important person in life and exclaimed that Andy always agree to be her concert’s special guest. Sammi gave him two kisses when Andy went onto the stage, she then asked the audience if they were envy her.

Initially Andy and Sammi would be collaborating in a new film, but it did not materialize due to the concerts. Andy said that he had not seen a $30 million box office taking, he quipped that the 10,000 audience watched 100 times each will get this box office taking.

Sammi promise that she would be his special guest in his 2010 concerts during the Christmas holidays to celebrate their film collaboration breaking the $30 million box office mark, this promise stirred up the audience.

They duet ‘Yi Qi Zuo Guo De Ri Zi’, Andy was holding to Sammi’s waist and stick his face onto her face, Sammi then seize the chance to kiss him. Andy then sang ‘Du Zi Qu Tou Huan’ alone.

Sammi Cheng’s first night of LoveMi Sammi Cheng World Tour 2009 was held successfully at the Hong Kong Coliseum last night.

Other than Andy Lau as the special performing guest, ex-boyfriend Andy Hui was also present to show his support.

A sight of placards and light sticks formed up in the whole coliseum, the atmosphere was explosive.

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Macao SAR Government, Andy Lau held a concert at Macao Stadium yesterday, he even performed hanging on wires. Andy quipped that it would be great coming to Macao for concert for the Macao SAR Government anniversary every year.

At the opening of the concert, Andy was hang on wires before been lowered down to the stage, singing ‘Zhong Guo Ren’ this excites the audience. In order to get near to the audience further away from the stage, Andy once again hang on wires to get himself to the center of the venue. Although Andy was at a height 8-storey, but his expression did not change as he continue to wave and smile to the audience. During encore, an excited Andy said: “All of you don’t wish to leave? So leave the remaining time to me, no matter what it will be in future, I’ll want all of you to stay behind to accompany me, all of you cannot run away from my palm.”

He later said that there are high and low in life, thus he hope that everyone will remember him. After saying, he became mischievous again as he asked everyone to take note of his soon-to-be-screened film. In the end, he sang ‘Mu Qin’ and quipped: “I hope that for every Macao SAR Government anniversary, they would invite me here for concert, then I would have the chance to meet the fans here!”

It is said that the concert is a present to the Macao resident by the Macao SAR government. The ticket of the concert is priced at 200 MOP but local resident could have discount till each ticket cost 50 MOP. With such cheap ticket price, many resident brought the whole family to watch Andy’s concert. Other than young couples, you can see audience range from the age of 5 – 70 years old.

Celebrating 10th Anniversary of the Macao SAR Government Andy Lau Wonderful World concert will be held at Estádio Campo Desportivo (Macau Stadium) on 20 December. Andy attended the press conference in Macao yesterday. With regards to allegation that he spent HK$106 million to buy a new apartment for himself and Carol Zhu Liqian, Andy denied that he had any thoughts of moving, he quipped: “I can make children everywhere!”

At the press conference, it was also the premiere of the music video for Ode to Macao, Andy gave a crystal lotus to Macao SAR Government Instituto do Desporto (Sport Development Board) chairman Wong Yau Lek.

The organizer arranged a child whose birthday is the same date as the handover of Macao to present flowers.

Andy expressed that it’s almost 10 years that he last held a concert in Macao. When asked if he’s paid good, he said he knew nothing. The concert will be held in the afternoon, Andy said that the production team used an advance LCD screen which will give the audience a better visual enjoyment.

Andy exclaimed that when he first entered showbiz, he would always come to Macao during the Chinese New Year to play firecracker, he sing praise that Macao had improved a lot for the past 10 years, it can be comparable to Las Vegas which is suitable for a family get-away. When asked if he gamble, Andy said: “I don’t dare to gamble, it’s very hard to earn money, depressed to lose money, don’t even play mahjong.”

It was alleged that he would be buying a new apartment at Kadoorie Hill to set up a love nest with Carol to make baby, the new apartment will be one street away from his current apartment thus he could visit his parents easily. When asked of these allegations, Andy said: “I would not discuss about this! (Did your parents asked about this?) They seldom read newspaper, I don’t have the intention of moving currently, don’t say buy property for investment.” It was reported that he intend to move to make babies, Andy burst into laughter and said: “I can make babies everywhere.”

In addition, Alan Tam wanted to recommend him to become the chairman of the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild, he said: “He did discuss with me, but I never agree, Alan and Eric Tsang are the one over seeing everything, I’m just a backup, I’m just suitable to be the producer of concert, hosting and small projects.” When asked if he had any suitable candidate, he said: “To be a chairman must have some status, but this is not a topic to be discussed over tea or meal.”

McHappy Day Concert was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 20 November. McDonald’s managed to raised a total of HK$3.8 million for its Ronald McDonald House Charities. As the guardian of Ronald McDonald House Charities, Andy Lau along with little angels Andox and Box, Eason Chan, Joey Yung, Kay Tse On Kei, Hins Cheung and HardSoft gathered together to give the 5,000 audience a heart warming night.

Andy changed his normal style as he wore a eye catching red shoes with black coat and pants. At the opening, he sang ‘Mei You Ci Pang De Tian Shi’, ‘Yi Qi Peng’, ‘I Wish’ and ‘Chang Tu Ban Lv’ as he danced with Andox and Box.

The highlight of the concert was that the singers wore different bright colors T-shirts as they do their bit for charity. The concert was to help those children suffering from mental illness.

Andy whom will be location shooting in Mainland China for New Shaolin Temple, thus he would missed out the music award ceremonies at the end of the year and early next year. He was very popular at the concert as many fans gave him flowers.

Earlier Andy revealed to the media in Mainland China that he went to see a shrink after the death of Yang Lijuan’s father. When he was interviewed after the concert, he did not deny as he said that other than himself, his colleagues and fan club members were all pressurize, and he feel that what affected him most is not Yang Lijuan but the people reacting about the incident that pressurize him.

His company later suggested him to visit a shrink, with regards to all those text messages that he received were handled over to his lawyer to handle. He said: “Thinking back, I would know how to handle if I encounter such matter again.”

Is this the reason why he did not reveal his wife? He said: “Let’s not lump everything together, this is not the problem.” When asked if the exposure of his marriage is harder to handle? He replied: “This matter is not related, let’s not talk about it,” and expressed that although there are minimum ups and downs as he could still go bowling, write calligraphy and watch Stephen Chow films to relax. When asked if telling his wife would also make him relax, he quipped: “You’re so evil, ask this type of question, it’s enough!”

Metro Radio Andy Lau, Richie Jen & Andy Hui Diamond Megastar concert was be held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 8 August. The gathering of these 3 superstars whose combined age is more than 100 years old, of course will attract countless of fans to watch such a concert which is hard to come by.

Richie sang his Cantonese song ‘Peng You, Ni Bian Le Mei You’ and latest single ‘Fu Ge Di Yi Ju’. Andy Hui then sang ‘Bi Yi Shuang Fei’, followed by Heal The World.

Andy Lau also solo to sing I Wish before the three brothers gathered together on the stage again to sing ‘Du Zi Qu Tou Huan’, ‘Dui Nian De Nv Hai Kan Guo Lai’ and many other classic songs.

Andy’s appearance creates the highest commotion as it bring the venue’s atmosphere to greater heights. Most of the audience are Andy’s fans thus all of them rushed towards the stage when they sighted their idol, thus resulting a small commotion, the concert as if become a Andy World Club gathering. On seeing the situation, Andy urge the fans to go back to their seats by saying: “I got a message, the Hong Kong police are coming down to do a spot check, could all of you please step back.”

Andy also did not forget to perform Latin dance which won loud applause.

Towards the end of the concert, they played with water guns as they sprayed water while singing, they seemed to be enjoying themselves as all got themselves drenched. Andy even exclaimed: “Even my underwear is drenched, I didn’t bring any extra.”

August 12 is Andy Hui’s birthday, his fans brought a birthday cake for him to celebrate with him, however the “birthday boy” was drenched by Andy whom love to play with water guns. Andy even made a promise with Andy Hui and Richie that they will play water guns together again on Richie’s upcoming concert.

When talked about Johnnie To claiming that heavenly king superstars are troublesome as they need several assistant around them, he also said that sometimes Andy Lau is not nice. With regards to this, Andy said: “He’s very nice, (He said that there are too many people around the heavenly king thus making him not nice) If he really said that, I wanted him to apologize, followed by a short discussion with him, I treated him well.”

There is also reports that Andy will collaborate with Jet Li in New Shaolin Temple, Andy expressed: “This film indeed appeared on my work schedule, but Jet should not be in it, really not sure.”

Andy and Richie rehearse for the concert yesterday as they duet Richie’s song ‘Dui Mian De Nv Hai Kan Guo Lai’, they seemed excited and were full of exprssions when singing the song.

Although both of them had been special performing guest for their respective concerts, but this is their first time collaborating, they had already discussed with Andy Hui that they would be “playing” crossover and prepared their own segments. They only managed to rehearse together recently and believed that the performance would be fun.

As three of them are heavyweights, thus people are nervous to get the tickets, Andy pointed out: “Everyone is snatching for the tickets, even my fan club can only seated at the furthest left, they can only see the side view of me, I looked most handsome from the front.” As the concert is sponsored by MaBelle Leo Diamond, tickets are exchanged after making purchases and it’s not for sale to public, therefore black market tickets cost as high as $4000. Andy urged fans not to buy these black market tickets.

With regards to allegations that there will be a sequel for Overheard and Derek Yee intended to ask Andy and Donnie Yen to collaborate, Andy expressed that nobody contacted him officially, but he loved such story, if he was contacted, he might consider taking up the offer.

When talked about Donnie’s asking fee had already reached $6 million, Andy did not answer directly at the question, he said: “The boss will be paying the fees not Derek.”

When reporters quipped in this Diamond Megastar concert, who is the diamond and who is the megastar. Being married and a father, Richie said: “All of us are diamond bachelors!” Andy then quipped: “Richie is diamond, Andy Hui is megastar and I’m the concert.”

With regards to the current “I pretty mode” gals (young pretty models) snatching the headlines, Andy whom was busy location shooting in Mainland China did not take note of these news and have never seen any of these “I pretty mode” gals, but he did know of “human” bolster.

Richie said that the headlines of every day’s newspaper are news of “I pretty mode”, but he still could not remember whom is who, but people’s interest is not a bad thing, he express: “Actually this happened in Taiwan before, most importantly is people look at it in a healthy way.” With regards to the “I pretty mode” gals showed off their figures, Andy quipped that he will wear cotton padded coat during the concert to balance the current trend.

Andy Lau Wonderful World Concert Tour Chongqing stop was held last night and the 2009 Mainland China concert tour also came to an end. More than 40,000 fans enjoyed 3 hours of visual and listening buffet with Andy at Olympic Sports Centre. Andy’s love to his fans cannot be discounted as during the concert he said “I Love You” many times to them, he also quipped: “All these applause only belongs to Andy Lau. If I know that all of you love another person, I will surely kill all of you!”

Although there is no alleged “flying man” opening, Andy used ‘Zhong Guo Ren’ in the opening won cheers and applause from the 40,000 crowd. Andy wore his trademark white suspender trousers, occasionally revealing his abs which the female fans kept screaming out loud. When singing every song, the audience will shout out: “Andy Lau, I love you!” Just singing the third song ‘Nan Ren Ku Ba Bu Shi Zui’, Andy started to cry.

As per the organizer promoted, the stage was grand and the huge LED screen kept changing the displayed pictures.

After showing off his tone body, Andy changed into a white “navy officer” uniform and returned to the stage. Andy even gave the fans a military salute. His handsome outlook once again challenge the female fans visual limits. Together with ‘Tai Xiang Ai’, ‘An Li Zhao Mi’, ‘Ni Shi Wo De Nv Ren’ and other songs, Andy and two female dancers performed some exciting dances. Some of the extreme movements make the fans screamed to the max.

Andy love to communicate with hi fans as he discussed with them: “Tonight is my last performance, do you want to have a crazy night?” He then asked: “Who among you remember how Andy Lau looked like 20 years ago? There is only one word to describe me: handsome!”

“20 years ago, I’m handsome, 20 years later, I’m still handsome! When girls looked for boyfriend, please don’t take me as a standard as I’m too old. All your applause only belong to Andy Lau. If I find out that you had fall in love with another person, I will surely kill all of you! Of course, I could not request that you just love me, I have to say, if I was to stand beside the artiste that you also love, you should give me the louder applause!”

Andy spotted banner with writing of “Mrs. Lau”, he began to question the fans: “What does Mrs. Lau means, my wife? So how many wives came today?” Suddenly, thousands of Mrs. Lau appeared. He asked the fans to sing ‘Wang Qing Shui’ with him as he quipped: “Who didn’t sing along, I’ll chase you out.”

“Many thanks to all of you for coming here, do you know why I kept having concerts around cities in China? Because I know that there is only one Andy Lau, with so many fans, it’s impossible for me to be beside you everyday, I can only be together with you during concert. The much anticipated Andy Lau 2009 Shenyang concert was finally held last night (22 April 2009) at Shenyang Olympic Sports Centre. Close to 60,000 audience and fans had been waiting at the concert venue, there is simply no empty seats in the Olympic Sports Centre. This is the third time Andy came to Shenyang to perform.

Among the anticipated cheers, Andy used ‘Zhong Guo Ren’ to officially begin the concert. Despite the previous day rain did lower the temperature, but Andy still performed as usual with fire as it warms up the whole Olympic Centre.

Being the superstar and his handsome image, it combined well with his songs to allow the audience to scream out loud, they held their light sticks to reply to their idol. After ‘Zhong Guo Ren’, he sang ‘Lang Ren Qing Ge’ and ‘Nan Ren Ku Ba Bu Shi Zui’.

After the three opening songs, Andy first words to the audience was: “Are you happy? Do you know that I’m happy?” The audience replied him: “Happy!” Andy then continues: “It had been raining for these few days in Shenyang, I’m worried about today, luckily it did not disappoint me!” When Andy was thinking what to say next, the audience continued to scream, Andy then had to plea the audience: “Would you mind to quiet for a while, I can’t continue singing this way!” When the audience quiet down, Andy asked: “When I first entered showbiz some 20-30 years ago, do you know that I existed?” When the audience replied that they knew his existence, Andy then continued to sing ‘Ru Guo Ni Shi Wo De Chuan Shuo’, the audience did not screamed instead they sing along with him. They also continued to sing ‘Tian Yi’ and ‘Wang Qing Shui’ with him. This again bring the atmosphere of the concert to new heights.

For every Andy’s concert, there will be dances and drama performance before each segment, there was no exception in Shengyang. When singing new song ‘Yi’, the main focus on the dance performance shifted to Andy as he sing and dance with two female dancers dressed in white and red respectively.

After a happy ending to the drama, Andy re-appeared on the stage dressed as a clown to sing ‘Ben Xiao Hai’. The concert entered “Our Time” segment. He sighed: “More than 20 years ago, a silly kid chose to come onto this stage, up till now, I need to thank everybody’s support. I always tell newcomers, if you work hard you will earn applause. “I can’t act?”; “I can’t sing?”, even I’m dressed as a clown, am I still handsome? Will you still love me?” Of course the audience replied “Yes!”. Full of smiles, Andy said: “Actually for the past 20 years, I always depended on my face. But after these 20 years, with all of you, I does not need to be a clown anymore.”

Andy continues: “Every faces tell me that all of you loved me very much, I have nothing to say to you, hope this friendship remains forever. Raised your right hand and we make an agreement, we will still be friends in our next life. In my next life, I will still be called Andy Lau!”

When Andy discover banner writing “diamond husband” and hear female fans cheering “husband”, Andy shake his hand and said: “I’m not your husband, there are so many of you, I can’t be your husband, I’m your big boss.”

The fourth segment was the Cowboy Weaver” segment, in order to be together with the girl he loved, the cowboy suffered a lot. When he was being tied up in mid air by the “demon” and pushed him against the wall, the “thump thump” sound effect worried the audience. Luckily, there was a happy ending as the couple was together in the end, with ‘Ai Ni Yi Wan Nian’, the audience can finally relaxed.

Both of Andy’s sons Andox and Box also appeared in the concert to show support to their “mother”. Andox and Box also performed dancing to make the audience burst into laughter. The whole family bring up the audience as it bring the atmosphere of the concert to its highest point.

There was the touted “flying man” stunt where Andy “fly” towards the audience at the VIP seats. Many audience noticed that there were wires hanging in between the stage as all are excited when he would “fly towards them”. When Andox and Box appeared, all attention were all them, Andy suddenly appeared in mid-air as he stand on a platform which only allow one person to stand as he “flew” towards the audience. Although safety precautions were taken, but the fans were still worried for him. One fan exclaimed: “It’s too dangerous, Andy is indeed professional.”

The whole kept has surprises throughout, no matter its visual, hearing or mental, it bring huge effect to the fans. It should be the most fortunate and excited night for all fans in Shenyang. When Andy asked: “Is this your most memorable concert?” All the audience answered: “Yes!”.
